The Punjab government has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 3.15 Crore under “Plan Scheme Construction of “Dr. Ambedkar Bhawans and their Operations” 2016-17 to mark the 125th Birth Centenary of Bharat Ratana Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the State. As a part of the celebrations, it was decided that in 21 districts of the state, impressive statutes of Baba Saheb would be installed, where as in Bathinda such statue is already installed. Disclosing this here today, Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike SC/BC Welfare Minister Punjab said that under the able guidance of the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, this historic decision was taken to install magnificent statues all over the state. An amount of Rs. 15 Lac has been allocated separately to each district for this purpose, he added.

The Minister also said that all the deputy commissioners have been directed to organize special programmes on the installation of the statues and highlight the vision, enormous qualities and achievements of Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar in modernizing the Nation.He further said that Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution as architecture of Constitution, Economist, Philosopher and far sighted approach would always act as a guiding star to the generations.He also said that to pay homage to the great legend on his 125th Birth Anniversary and to motivate the youth to  embrace the life and teachings of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, a series of National Seminars based on his teachings are being organized all over the state.
