Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ramban, Neelam Langeh today gave away specially designed Scooties to seven physically challenged persons here today. The District Programme Officer ICDS, Ashok Pandita, District Social Welfare Officer, Varunjeet Singh Charak, other officers and a large number of people were present on the occasion.Addressing the gathering, the MLA called upon the people to come forward to avail benefits of welfare schemes introduced by the government for downtrodden sections of the society. He asked them to approach the Social welfare department and get the knowledge about the eligibility for availing various welfare schemes run by the Central and State government for their upliftment.
Meanwhile, the team of officers made the people aware about different welfare schemes launched by the government for women, children, socially backward and weaker sections of the society. They further informed that the department is providing the specially designed Scooties to the persons with more than 40 % physical deformity and feel difficulty in moving from one place to another.The beneficiaries thanked MLA for taking into account their genuine requests and for providing them Scooties which would immensely ease their day to day problems.
