Punjab Government, Punjab Technical University (PTU) & Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA) are jointly organizing “Technical Education & Skill Development Summit” on 8th February. This is a milestone in the history of Technical Education of Punjab.This was announced by Dr. J.S Dhaliwal, President, PUTIA during a Press Conference held today in SAS College. On the occasion, Mr Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University; Mr Manjit Singh, Chairman, Doaba Group; Mr Naresh Nagpal, Sri Sai Group; Dr. Anshu Kataria, Convener, PUTIA & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges and Mr Tejinderpal Singh Sandhu were also present.Dr. J.S Dhaliwal said that Punjab Government, PTU & PUTIA have organized many big events inpidually till now but this event will be a mark in the history of Punjab. Punjab Govt. has earlier organized the summit with the name “Progressive Punjab”. On the same pattern, Punjab Govt in association with PTU and PUTIA, is organizing “Technical Education Summit”. Dhaliwal said that on one hand where 95% of Education in Punjab is being provided by Private Institutes, on the other hand these students are being provided Technical Education so as to provide them with Employment. He further said that many efforts are being made by Private Universities and Institutes to provide Quality Education at nominal price to the students in Punjab only who aspire to study abroad. Keeping this in mind, various MoU’s are signed with various countries so that students should not face problem when they go abroad.

Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, CU stated that during the event of “Investment Summit”, it was announced that 55,000 Crores will be invested in Industrial sector. When the Punjab will become the Industrial Hub then the Technical experts will be required. That’s why the main aim of “Technical Education Summit” is to provide the Industries of Punjab with the skilled manpower.Mr. Manjit Singh, Chairman, Doaba Group of Colleges said that Punjab in emerging as Education Hub. Earlier the Punjabi Youth preferred to go abroad for further Education but now foreigners are coming to Punjab for further Studies.Dr. Anshu Kataria, Convener, PUTIA & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said that the preparations for this event have already been started. To give this plan a concrete form, many committees by Punjab Govt., PUTIA & PTU have been formed. He added that the Summit will be inaugurated by S Prakash Singh Badal, CM, Punjab.It is to be mentioned that more than 50,000 students of Private Universities and Colleges are expected to participate in this mega event being organized jointly by Punjab Govt, PUTIA and PTU.
