The Holy Wonder Smart School observed International Tiger Day to spread awareness about conserving wild life. It was both an awareness day as a celebration. Students were fully engrossed in different in different types of activities. They wrote meaningful slogan about endangered species. Then Speech competition were organised, Tigers should be saved was main topic . Later,students participated in poster making competition; collage making competition with the theme Endangered, Extinct and vulnerable species should be protected . Later, message was given that natural habitat of animals should not be spoiled.
While speaking at the moment Director Ashween Arora Said that at that moment wild tigers were too close to extinction. According to her tiger populations have plummeted around the world in the past few decades due to a myriad of reasons and circumstances ranging from deforestation, habitat fragmentation, poaching, loss of prey and infectious diseases, among several others. She further told that tigers play a key role in maintaining healthy ecosystems that supply nature and people with fresh water, food, and health . Tigers are at the top of the food chain and therefore maintain the population of certain herbivore species, such as deer, which affect tree regeneration and seed dispersal. So by saving tigers, we will help people, too.
