With the announcement of PMET-2016 results by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFHUS), there is a great resentment among the students and parents for not making public the report of the committee constituted over the 110 questions controversy. Added here, well before the announcement of results by the BFUHS – established under an Act passed by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in July 1998 – huge number of objections in Answer Sheets were raised by the candidates, invited by the authorities. In all, 379 objections were raised by the candidates, resulting delay in announcing the result.  Over 14,000 candidates appeared for the examination for as many as 800 MBBS and 500 BDS seats in government colleges and the government quota seats in private colleges.

Speaking to this correspondent Vijay Garg, father of Ankush Garg  said, “There had been hue and cry over 110 wrong questions and news to this effect have appeared in the media.” He alleged that before the announcement of the result, the report of the Committee constituted to decide about 110 questions have not been made public and the result have been declared by the University taking the help of AIMS at Delhi. He said, the students are still confused as to which formula has been adopted by the University while declaring the result. According to Garg, his son Ankush with 90.18 percentile, got 1436 rank in the merit and is not likely to get admission. Rather he feels discouraged over the formula adopted for preparing the final result which was not made public.Garg said, there seems to be no transparency in finalizing the PMET results and a high level enquiry from an independent agency needs to be conducted so that the genuine students are denied justice.
