No proposal for up-gradation of Bhaderwah Campus: Naeem Akhter

Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Naeem Akhter today informed the House that presently there is no proposal for the up-gradation of Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University to the level of full-fledged University.Replying to a question of Mr. Daleep Singh Parihar, the Minister informed that Government would consider to introduce more streams in Bhaderwah University Campus. He said Government is consolidating the information about those who provided land to University Campus free of cost, adding that in this regard a holistic view would be taken to engage the same land occupants in Government jobs.

In response to the supplementaries, the Minister said that University Sub-Campus Delina would be brought at par with Anantnag University Campus. He said the land dispute of University Sub-Campus Poonch has been settled and necessary work on building infrastructure for University Sub-Campus Poonch would be started soon. He said Government would also consider introducing more streams in University Sub-Campus Leh for convenience of the students of the area.The Minister said that Centre has released Rs. 2 crore for creation and development of infrastructure in Kashmir and Jammu Universities. He said that funds to the tune of Rs. 1 crore released for Jammu University has not been spent so far, which would be looked into and work on sub-campuses in the division would be taken up on priority.Mr. Javid Hassan Baig, Ch. Mohammad Akram, Mr. Rajeev Jasrotia, Mr. R. S. Pathania and Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora raised supplementaries to the main question.
