A day after his government was restored and President's Rule revoked in the state, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Thursday presided over a cabinet meeting during which a number of important decisions were taken. The cabinet once again ratified the decisions taken during a previous meeting, which were nullified later due to political turmoil in the state.Among other decisions taken were the second-time appointment of guest teachers in government schools, regularization of slums and others. The cabinet also reversed the order of Governor K.K. Paul to open a police station at Tyundi, given by him on May 7, an official said. Earlier, Rawat and many senior members of his cabinet, including Indira Hridesh and Surendra Singh Negi, called on the Governor at Raj Bhawan. The entire cabinet, led by the chief minister, is slated to fly down to New Delhi in a chartered plane to meet party president Sonia Gandhi. On Wednesday, President's Rule was revoked in the state after the Congress won a Supreme Court-mandated trust vote.
