A high level delegation led by Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg Honorary Chairman of the Political Party “Top 09”, Czech Republic today called on Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki,  the Governor of Punjab, Haryana and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh at Haryana Raj Bhavan. Other members of the delegation Mr. Holik Pavel, Mr. Luzar Leo, Mr. Kostrica Rom all Members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.Discussing various issues at length, Prof. Solanki said India enjoys mature bilateral relations and strong socio-cultural linkages with Czech Republic. Discussing democratic practices, Mr. Karel Schwarzemberg inquired whether your country has the provision to change the Constitution.On this, Prof. Solanki replied that so far we have made around 150 amendments in our Constitution.During discussion Mr. Karel Schwarzemberg asked the Governor regarding the practice of yoga in India.

 On this, the Governor said that the United Nations has accepted the proposal of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi and declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. He said that this year Prime Minister of India is coming to Chandigarh on International Yoga Day.In a meeting with Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg, Czech Republic, Prof. Solanki said that there was a major scope to further expand economic & business cooperation in wide range of fields like Information Technology, marketing of agriculture produce, sharing of educational tools & technologies, which can be of immense mutual benefit of people on both sides.Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Mr. Kanwar Pal Singh, Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Ms Putnarova Zuzana, Ms Ginterova  Silvie, Mr. Masarik Roman, Mr. Hovorka  Milan, Secretary to Governor, Dr. Amit Aggarwal, Mr. Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu, and Major Krishna Singh both ADCs to Governor.
