Hailing the courage exhibited by the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti during the stalemate period of more than two months, the PDP senior leader and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam on Wednesday termed Mehbooba’s ‘selfless courage’ as iconic and torch bearer for Kashmir’s generations to come.Alam while addressing Srinagar workers convention at the PDP head office stated that the PDP chief has revealed to the world that mere power must not make any one to barter the principles. He said that it has been for the first time witnessed in Kashmir’s history that a person is refusing the top post for peoples’ interests and refusing to budge an inch from the stand. “The PDP president has reduced to tread the horizon. She has shown new ways for the generations to come and such a selfless courage was never witnessed in Kashmir’s past,” Alam said.PDP’s Srinagar district President Alam stated that earlier the people of Kashmir have seen how persons in hurry took oath in the midst of the nights and how ideologies and principles were undermined and thrown to wind. “Nowhere has such audacity witnessed. Mehbooba Mufti has set an example for the generations of Kashmir that how one should strive for principles and how peoples’ interests must be supreme to a leader.”Alam said that the PDP chief has shown her leadership skills by her undaunted valour and that the need of the hour to is strengthen her and transform her dream of peaceful Kashmir with honour and dignity into reality.
