In order to review the process of purchases of nutrition for the ICDS centres in the district, a meeting of the District Level Purchase Committee (DLPC) was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Yasha Mudgal.The meeting was attended by District Programme Officer ICDS, District Treasury Officer, AC Food Safety & Standards Act, and other concerned officers.It was given out that after repeated tendering, no valid tender was received by the District level purchasing Committee. Hence, it was decided that the nutrition will be purchased at the Block levels in the district. While as procurement of nutrition for the ICDS centres will be now exercised at the Block levels, for which Block level committees were constituted.The members of the Block level Committees will be Child Development Project Officer, Block Development Officer, Block Medical Officer and Treasury Officer of the concerned blocks. The Committees will ensure the purchase of the nutrition keeping in view the project-wise requirement in the Block and all necessary guidelines.
