District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mir. Altaf Ahmad, today held a meeting to review progress on various ongoing schemes especially centrally sponsored SSA and RAMSA in the district.It was given out in the meeting that against the target of 26 High school buildings for the current fiscal under RAMSA, 14 buildings have been constructed, whereas construction of three additional class rooms in 72 Middle schools has been completed against the target of 97 schools in the district during the current financial year. The meeting was informed that   additional accommodation is being constructed in 17 more schools under RMSA during the current fiscal year. Under District sector, fencing and construction of walls has been taken up in 30 schools. Also construction of High school building at Draggar and Atina has been completed, while construction of Laboratory Block at Hafroo- Batapora, additional accommodation for Budgam High school, construction of lavatory blocks at Higher secondary schools at Sholi Pora and Chrar-i-sharief is nearing completion. Moreover 1227 more schools have been covered under Mid Day Meal Scheme in the district during the current year so far. DDC was informed that training programmes have been organized for updating teaching skills of teachers. About 1000 teachers are being covered for re-orientation course for secondary and elementary level during the current fiscal whereas  a high tech  teaching and administrative  skill up gradation training programme  for Heads of educational institutions has also been started .The DDC stressed on concerted efforts to impart quality education to the students enabling them to face tough competition.
