Lawrence Public Senior Secondary School celebrated its 32nd Annual Sports Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Mewa Singh District Education Officer presided over the fun filled event and honored the students with his presence. The principal of the school Veena Malhotra urged students to adopt never say die attitude and need to continuously improve themselves to excel. The sports day started by seeking the blessings of Almighty with beautifully synchronised Ganesh Vandana. To enliven the sports event, the Olympic torch was lit by the sports achiever and then the chief guest declared the sports meet open. The sports day consisted of a huge range of events ranging from pithu race, teaching students dignity of labour to taekwondo, a Korean Martial Art that taught students self-defence.The day also included various fun filled dances to cheer up and entertain the parents. Constructive thinking is the need of the hour was depicted beautifully by the tiny tots through the game constructing the wall. The winners were declared and honoured by the Chief Guest DEO Mewa Singh. According to him sports is one such domain where if given proper boost children showcase immense talent and potential and is of paramount importance for holistic development of the children.
