Chief Parliamentary Secretary Health Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu today conducted a surprise check in the Health Directorate to take stock of the disposal of the routine files in the Health department.Dr. Sidhu paid a surprise visit to the health directorate after receiving complaints of the tardy way of disposing files in all the sections and branches of the Health department. After visiting each and every section/branch of the department meeting the director health and other officers of the Health department, Dr. Sidhu said that a special camp would be organized next week in the Health directorate where on the spot disposal of files would be ensured. She said she would be personally present during the file disposal camp.

Expressing concern over the deliberate delay of clearing the time bound files; Dr. Sidhu warned the officers concerned to immediately dispose off the files and also asked the Director Health Dr. Bhagmal to fix the responsibility of the erring officers so that departmental action could be initiated against them. She said that she would be personally monitoring the movement and disposal of the files regularly. Dr. Sidhu also asked the director Health to expedite the pending cases of the ANMs where orders have been issued to give full salary to the ANMs recruited on contractual posts. Dr. Sidhu has also asked the Director Health to work out the online disposal of the files so that the file work could be disposed off within fixed time frame.Meanwhile, Dr. Sidhu said that the Punjab government has completed all the formalities to recruit 1400 male health workers so that the health facilities could be strengthened at Village levels and it could reach maximum number of people of the state.
