Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash and Minister of State for Industries & Commerce, Power Development and Housing and Urban Development, Mohammad Ashraf Mir today laid foundation stone of the construction of 2X 6.3 MVA, 33-11 KV receiving station at Waterhail area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.The ministers were accompanied by MLC, Saifuddin Ahmad Bhat, Chief Engineer, PDD, Bashir Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer, Budgam, Dr GM Dar, District Present Peoples Democratic Party, Mohiduin Muntazir among other district heads of various civil and police departments.“We have been serious of bringing downtrodden areas of the state on developmental front,” Mir told an impressive gathering at Waterhail, Budgam.The minister said that the people of Waterhail would see a wave of development and prosperity soon, after the receiving station would be commissioned.“The way you want honesty from the government, similarly government expects certain things from you. We want you to give us time, cooperate with us and also be honest with your representatives,” Mir said..“Be in touch with your local representatives so that local problems are solved on priority basis. I assure that whatever share, Budgam is deserves, it will certainly get it,” he added.

While addressing the public gathering, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash briefed people about various schemes in Health and Social Welfare sector. She urged people to work for the peace and prosperity. “In order to witness peace and prosperity, people need to be upfront in all the directions,” Naqsh told the gathering..“Government is serious on developing the downtrodden areas and I must tell you that we have many schemes like Ladli Beti, which has been devised for benifitting the common people,” she said.She said that the shortage of doctors and paramedics would be addressed soon. On the occasion she also donated an Ambulance to the areaEarlier, MLC, Saifuddin Ahmad Bhat while speaking at the function said that government needs people’s cooperation. “We will give you good governance only when you will support us,” Bhat said. Bhat urged the ministers to look into the grievances of the people of the areas and address them on priority.

Meanwhile the ministers were informed that the Power to Budgam district is supplied though the electric network constituting five number of grid stations and 21 (33/KV stations and 2400 distribution transformers of various capacities.The officials accompanying the ministers said that the power is transmitted through a network of 190 km of 33 KV, 1800kv of 11KV and 3600 km of LT lines.  A total number of 69625 consumers are served electricity with an aggregate agreement load of 62.25MW.“In order to bridge the gap between the existing demand and capacity of the stations and to overcome the overloading of the various receiving stations of the district, receiving stations are proposed at various stations of the district,” the ministers were informed. “Receiving stations are proposed at various load centres viz-a-viz (1X6.3) MVA 33/11KV receiving station at Aarizal, 1X 6.3 MVA, 33/11 KVA reciving station at Sanoor, Budgam (2X6.3 MVA 33/11 KV receiving station at Waterhail, Budgm and (1X6.3 MVA 33/11KV receiving station at Hanjoora, Budgam.” The officials said that the receiving station (2X6.3MVA, 33/10 KV receiving station at Waterhail, Budgam is sanctioned under TND scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 2.19 crore in the year 2008/09. However due to land disputes and paucity of funds couldn’t be completed within the stipulated period. “The scheme is now reframed as per the cost 2015/16 for an amount of Rs 3.16 crore for accord of TEC approval,” they said.
