Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh performed the foundation stone laying ceremony of Rs. 26 crore sewerage scheme for left out areas of Totu in Shimla today. On completion, the scheme would benefit a population of around 11,502 persons besides it would further benefit as many as 18,603 persons till 2047. Initially, 2,417 houses would be provided sewerage connection.Shri Virbhadra Singh said that this was a much needed step towards fulfilling the motive of total sanitation campaign and the clean Bharta drive.Irrigation and Public Health Minister, Smt. Vidya Stokes, former Member of Parliament, Smt. Pratibha Singh, President BCC, Shimla Rural, Shri Chandershekhar, Mayor, Shri Sanjay Chauhan, Deputy Mayor, Shri Tikendar Panwar, Member BoD, HPSIDC, Shri Pramod Kumar Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Smt. Manisha Nanda, Deputy Commissioner, Shri Dinesh Malhotra, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Shimla, Shri Pankaj Rai, Engineer-in-Chief, IPH, Shri R.K .Kanwar were present on the occasion amongst others.
