Minister of State for Health,Shabir Ahmad Khan has said that Central Government has sanctioned 600 new Sub- Health Centers for Jammu and Kashmir State adding that these health centers after completion of requisite formalities would be setup in those areas which lacks health care facilities, keeping in view the topography and distance from the nearest health institution of the area.This was stated by the Minister while interacting with several deputations of Kashmir and Jammu pisions, which met him here today to put forth their different developmental demands and inpidual demands for redress from concerned Departments.The deputations from Baramulla, Kupwara and Shopion, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur and RambanDistricts inter-alea demanded for upgradation of health infrastructure, besides establishment of health centers especially in remote and hilly areas of these districts. They also urged for filling up of vacant posts of medicos and paramedics with focused attention on installation of modern diagnostic equipments in rural institutions for convenience of the patients.The Minister apprised the deputationists that health sector tops on the agenda of the government and in this regard several innovative initiatives already taken by the State government with the liberal financial assistance of Centre to improve and upgrade the over all health scenario across the State. He said a whooping amount under State plan and NRHM have been kept available for infrastructure building under the Sector.The Minister said that to provide the treatment facilities to the people living in inaccessible area during emergencies, the government has in first phase declared 11 districts as high focused districts to provide them critical mobile medical units lased with all modern diagnostic facilities besides a doctor and paramedic adding that so far such facility provided to the districts of Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara and Leh in Kashmir pision while as in Jammu pision Rajouri, Poonch and Doda  have also provided this facility and soon such facility would be provided to Ramban, Kutha, Udhampur and Reasi districts of the pision.The Health Minister gave patient hearing to the deputationists. He said that due consideration would be given to all areas while stablishment of new health centers in the State. He said necessary instruction have also passed on to the concerned authorities for ensuring prompt treatment facilities to the patients in health institutions with stress on implementation of all components of NRHM for free and quality healthcare facilities to the patients especially mother and child.
