Geelani led Hurriyat Conference Friday said that Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani continued to remain under house arrest and today on 04 September he was 20th time forcibly stopped from offering the Friday congregational prayers in this year.  While terming the government action as clear violation of the state constitution and international laws, Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar in a statement to CNS,  condemned it in strong words and said that the house arrest process of the 86 years old pro-freedom leader remained unchanged in the 2015 year too and his detention has completed 140 days in this year. As usual extra police force was today deployed around the residence of Geelani Sahab and the CID personals in civics were seen everywhere in the Hyderpora area.

Hurriyat spokesman reminded that the house detention process of Geelani Sahab during the Omer Abdullah government remained for 4 long years and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed not only continued with this tradition but the restrictions were further tightened in his period. He said that the recent ruling of the Jammu & Kashmir high court which states that the preventive detention is an undemocratic act and against the law, generated some hope that the Geelani Sahab will be released and the police force at his residence will be lifted. But nothing like that happened so far and Geelani Sahab without any legal and moral justification continues to remain under the house imprisonment and his political, social and even his religious activities have been restricted. Hurriyat conference appealed the human rights organizations to take notice of the imprisonment of the pro-freedom leader and use their influence for his release. (CNS)
