Like other parts of the country Guru Purb was today celebrated with religious fervour in every District of the valley. In this connection the biggest congregation was held at Chhati Padshahi in old city Srinagar in which the pisional Commissioner Kashmir Mr. Shalinder Kumar also participated and paid obeisance.While interacting with the Sikh Community the pisional Commissioner, said that the pisional Administration has already put in place an effective mechanism for ensuring the smooth conduct of Guru purb festivities all across the valley .Responding to the demands of the Sikh Community the pisional Commissioner assured that Prabanak Committee Elections date which are scheduled to be held to be held in the month of January, 2014 .besides the demands would be taken up with the higher authorities.On the occasion thousands of devotees participated in Shabd keertan and Akhand part.
On the occasion the Additional Deputy Commissioners, Srinagar Mr.G.M.Dar and Mr. Shahbaz and Tehsaildar North Srinagar, Miss Nusrat and officers were present.
