Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Inderwal, Mr. G. M. Saroori today held a public grievance redressal camp at Mugalmaidan, Chatroo and Khara areas of district Kishtwar and Doda.SDM Chatroo, SDM Thathri, Tehsildar Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Kahara, Executive Engineer R&B, PMGSY, TSO’s, BDO’s, ZEO’s, all the other sectoral officers, a large number of people of adjoining villages including Panchs, Sarpanchs, local Congress leaders and Youth Congress members participated in the meeting and apprised the MLA of various problems being faced by them.Saroori while listening to the problems of people of Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Khara, Bathri areas sought detailed clarifications and action plan from the concerned officers to mitigate the grievances of the people. He asked them to take immediate steps to meet out their demands. He exhorted on better coordination between people and administration for the progress of these remote areas.

Saroori further said for the upliftment of educationally backward Schedule Tribe (ST) community the Tribal Affairs ministry has accorded sanction for the construction of 100 seated co-education tribal school at Chatroo in Inderwal constituency of Kishtwar district.“Director Tribal Affairs J&K has asked DC Kishtwar to identify 10 kanals of land for the construction of the school at Inderwal, The project aims to provide education to the remote/far flung ST students, order of director Tribal Affairs, J&K”, Saroori informed the general public and said that he has already taken the matter with DC Kishtwar to identify about 10 kanals of land for construction of the sanctioned Tribal School and get the Detail Project Report prepared through PWD for early execution of the project.Saroori said this school will be constructed at an estimated cost of more than Rs 3 crores while one crore has already been released for the sanctioned school. Free boarding and lodging facility will be provided to the students along with free education.

He said that he will also meet DC Kishtwar in the coming days for early finalizing and identification of land so that the project could be finished at the earliest.People of sub-division Chatroo and Tehsil Kahara highlighted the problems related to clearance of landslides on various roads, permanent settlement to Dunadi landslides, drinking water, non-payment of MGNREGA wages, replacement of Transformer, electricity, staff for PHC,s and Sub-Centres in the areas and day to day problems and have expressed their thanks to the MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and Union Tribal Ministry for sanctioning the tribal school for Chatroo and said it was a long pending demand of the ST community residing in this remote part of the country.They said that establishment of Tribal School will help to boost the education skills of the backward ST community living in the area.Later Saroori also met with affected families of windstorms, heavy rainfall in Chatroo and Khara areas and have directed SDM Chatroo, SDM Thathri to assess the losses including damage to residential houses and agriculture crops in the area and give compensation to the affected families.
