Gulam Nabi Azad Senior Congress Leader and Former Chief Minister of J&K and Prof. Saifuddin Soz MP (Former Union Minister) & President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee addressed a convention of Congress Party Workers from District Leh at Community Hall Leh (Ladakh) today.According to a statement issued to KNS, both the Leaders urged the Workers not to be complacent and work hard for total success of the Congress Party Candidates in the ensuing Elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly 2014. These leaders stressed the fact that from Jawahar Lal Nehru to Indira Gandhi to Rajive Gandhi and the Present leadership Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, each one of them had contributed greatly to the overall development of Ladakah Region.
They (Leaders) reminded the people of Ladakh that it is the Congress Party which had achieved the present day spectacular development for the people of Ladakh, in every sphere of life.Both leaders ( Azad and Soz) further told the gathering that they would also do which needs to be done for future development of Ladakh. They told them that it is the UPA Govt at the Centre that had provided adequate funds for Z-Morh Tunnel and Zojila Tunnel and it is the Congress party that commits itself to get a Tunnel constructed at Khardungla to connect Nobra Valley with Leh. Those who also spoke on the occasion include M/S Rigzin Jora, P. Namgial, T. Samphel, Rigzin Gialson, Ms. Dorjee President Mahila Congress Leh, Mohd Shafi General Secretary PCC and Youth Congress President.About forty Block Presidents, Sarpanchs , Panchs and Mahila Leaders spoke on the occasion. All the leaders of Ladakh assured Shri. Gulam Nabi Azad and Prof. Saifuddin Soz that Congress Party in Ladakh Region would certainly come upto their expectations. (KNS)
