Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Bathinda (Rural) MLA Rupinder Kaur Ruby on Friday called upon chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh in the Assembly and apprised him of the heavy losses due to floods damaging crops worth lakhs in the Bathinda area due to inadequate measures put in place by the government.In a memorandum submitted to chief minister,  Ruby said that the heavy flood waters had wreaked havoc in the Bathinda and demanded adequate compensation to the affected farmers, adding that it should be disbursed in a time frame.The AAP leader on the occasion  reminded Chief Minister about the pending girdwaris due to which farmers were getting late in sowing their next crops. She demanded immediate ‘girdwari’ of the affected areas to assess the extent of damage due to heavy rains and to enable farmers to procure seeds and start sowing process as it had already been delayed, she said.Ruby demanded 100 per cent compensation for the damage caused to the tube wells and farm machinery, houses and other properties of the people with a view to rehabilitating them.
