Deputy Speaker, HP vidhan Sabha Hansraj met the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi today and urged to include Pathankot-Chamba-Churah-Pangi-Leh road in the ambitious Bharatmala road project. He said this road will be important from strategic point of view. Currently the Armed forces have to cover a distance of about 900 kilometers through Pathankot-Mandi-Manali-Lahaul to reach Leh and vehicles take many days to cover this distance. However the distance would be reduced to only 400 kilometers if connected through Ptankot-Chamba-Churah-Pangi road. The Union Minister assured him for sympathetically considering this demand.Deputy Minister also apprised Nitin Gadkari that being a remote valley with tough geographical conditions, Churah valley needs to be connected with roads. This would not only provide better transportation facilities, but would also ensure economic and social development of the area. MLA Nachan Assembly Constituency Vinod Kumar was also present on this occasion.
