Parts of Kupwara reeling under darkness as PDD fails to restore power supply

Four days on Power Development department has failed to restore the power supply at Ramhal Handwara area of northern Kashmirs Kupwara district residents said while talking to this correspondent over phone.As Per the inputs received by KNO, over three villages of Ramhal Handwara are without electricity for fourth day this evening, Residents said that Authorities have failed to with stand their commitment of restoring the power supply within days without any delay in the restoration work. The residents said that four days ago when  heavy snow lashed whole valley, Like other parts our area Ramhal also suffered huge damage during the snowfall but till date the concerned department PDD has failed to restore the power supply in the area. They said that, During the time when Hundreds of the students of the Hamlet are appearing in different Annual Examinations of various standards leaving them to suffer, "Without taking the inconvenve  seriously faced by students  at the time, department seems to be hardly bothered about the sufferings of the students".Most of the population in our tribe can't afford Genest and other power generating equipments, They said.Students are the worst sufferers at the time, four days have gone past but authorities seem to be in slumber even knowing about the students appearing in the Exams.The residents went on saying that, Students have to prepare under candle lights or either assemble at neighbours place to make sufficient arrangement of lighting so that wards can paper as per the need.  The residents have appealed the authorities especially Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir to direct the concerned department to eliminate the sufferings by restoring the power supply at the earnest so that students won’t suffer more.
