Pistol kept in the hands of Shaheed Udham Singh’s statue at the new bus stand in Rajpura has been stolen. This has happened for the third time now. The municipal council stated that a new pistol will be put up soon and the police stated that it is preparing for an investigation into the matter. It was in 2009 and 2010 when this kind of incident happened when the pistol was stolen from the statue. According to Shriram Mohammad Singh Foundation’s Karnail Singh, the statue was placed after he put in efforts to get it at the new bus stand. After some time, some waggish elements of society lifted the pistol from the statue’s hands. On the other hand, when council’s head, Praveen Chabra was asked about this, he denied having any information on this. He said that the missing pistol will be replaced soon. SP Bhupinder Singh Khatra stated that it is very unfortunate that someone tried to harm the statue placed in the town. He stated that very soon he will get the investigation into the matter initiated and nab the offenders so that such an incident is not repeated. It should be noted that this has happened for the third time now.
