Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that the present central Government is sensitive to the concerns of common man and several flagship programmes have been launched by the present dispensation to improve the socio-economic profile of the common populace.Dr. Jitendra Singh said this during a function at village Hatli of Kathua where LPG connections were distributed under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to the women belonging to AAY/ST/SC families.Several deputations from Hatli and nearby villages flagged their problems before the MP which mainly comprises of new water supply scheme, upgradation of educational infrastructure, health centre and widening of Lakhanpur- Hatli road.Dr. Singh gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their demands will be fulfilled in a time bound manner and directed DC Kathua to devise a proposal for tube well at village Hatli so that the long pending demand of the villagers can be satisfied.

He also sought the cooperation of the people in the fast and better execution of ongoing developmental projects. The MP asked the officers to create awareness among the people about various government-sponsored welfare schemes, with focus on insurance and pension schemes so that the objective behind launching them could be fulfilled.For upcoming panchayat elections, Jitendra Singh said that it is necessary to establish grass root democracy in villages and it is the collective responsibility of every stakeholder to elect honest and dedicated village representatives. He also divulged that after establishing panchayat at villages more funds can be allocated from central government for their development.DC Kathua, Rohit Khajuria, SSP Kathua, Shridhar Patil, AD FCS&CA, T P Singh and other district officers were present during the function.
