A top Congress leader from Doda joined the Peoples Democratic party at the residence of PDP Vice President Muhammad Sartaj Madni in Gandhi Nagar Jammu .According to reports that Tariq Ahmed Sheikh a senior Congress leader of Doda joined the PDP at Gandhi Nagar residence of PDP vice president Muhammad Sartaj Madni senior party leaders.According to INB that Congress leader and others were welcomed by Former Deputy Speaker ,Legislator and PDP Vice president Muhammad Sartaj Madni into party.Reportedly Sheikh has been in active politics for the last one decade. Sheikh has joined PDP in presence of Senior PDP Leader Dr Mehboob Iqbal, shahbul Haq Bhat,District president, Nasir Ahmed,Riyaz Hussain Minto, Sajad Hussain Kokhar and dozens workers of PDP.“He Sheikh comes from a good political legacy and is full of enthusiasm to work for the people of the area and his entry into the party is like a homecoming for him. The party needs young leaders like him to carry forward and implement the agenda of the party which aims at bringing happiness and prosperity back to the state,” PDP Vice president Muhammad Sartaj Madni said while addressing a large number of people from Doda, Kishtawar,Devsar, Anantnag and Jammu districts.Expressing hope in the leadership of the PDP, the new entrants said they have decided to join the party due to its pro-people and revolutionary policies. They said the Jammu and Kashmir is currently passing through the difficult times and it is only credible leadership of the PDP which not only can ensure the lasting peace in the region but will take the state to new heights of development and prosperity.Meanwhile Madni said the agenda of her party was to change the situation of Jammu and Kashmir for better.
