The daily wagers working in Sheep and Animal Husbandry Department Monday staged a protest alleging that from past six months they have not been provided any wages despite attending their regular duties.A large number of daily wagers assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar and raised anti-government slogans.“Last time on Eidu-ul-Fitar we were provided wages and since then despite attending duties on regular bases, not a single penny has been given to us. We run families and are suffering due to want of our salaries,” the protesters told CNS.They also accused Department of having callous attitude towards them. “We had been promised that we will be regularized but even after the expiry of 10 to 15 years, we are still daily wagers,” they said and sought the intervention of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
