Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah along with Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. GN Itoo today visited many Government and private institutions of District Srinagar to check the attendance and the academic functioning of the schools.During the inspection of private school Presentation Convent School, the visiting authorities instructed the school management to ensure proper facilities including clean wash rooms are provided to the students.Inspecting Higher Secondary School Jawahar Nagar and Middle School Jawahar Nagar, the concerned were directed to take strict action against the staff found absent from their duties without any authorization. The instruction heads were also asked to adhere to the guidelines issued by the department regarding punctuality of the staff and attendance of students.The schools authorities were directed to register the attendance of staff on bio-metric machines, besides maintaining usual manual attendance registers.Secretary, School Education also directed to ensure the syllabus is completed on time. It was reiterated that only those students shall be allowed to sit in the annual examination who have obtained requisite attendance of 90%, as the examination forms of students falling short of attendance shall not be entertained from the Board of School Education. The parents were appealed to ensure the presence of their wards in schools till preparation break starts.
