State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 10000/-.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Avtar Singh posted at Police Station Shahkot in Jalandhar district was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Mangal Singh. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI was demanding Rs. 25000 not to implicate him in a criminal case.After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigations was under progress.In another bribery case, Rajesh Kumar Patwari posted at Cheecha Tehsil Attari in Amritsar district was nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 10000 from complainant Darshan Singh.The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused Patwari was demanding Rs. 10000 for the mutation of his land.After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused Patwari was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Amritsar and further investigations was under progress.
