Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli, today chaired a meeting of officers of various departments in Baramulla to review the status of developmental works in the district.District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Nassir Ahmad Naqash, SEs R&B and PDD, and senior officers of various other departments were present in the meeting.Speaking on this occasion, the Minister urged upon the officers to gear up the pace of ongoing works and projects and directed the concerned to personally monitor their progress on regular basis to ensure completion of these projects within their fixed timelines.The Minister also impressed upon the officers to ensure availability of all basic facilities to the people of the district.

Kohli called for proportional increase in the number of Sheep and Animal Husbandry units in the district and reiterated government’s commitment to enhancement in related infrastructure for better outcome and dividends from these sectors in the district.Stressing that as an important by-product of livestock, wool requires skilled manpower and upgraded machinery for proper utilization, the Minister instructed the concerned officers to provide shearing facilities at more places for the convenience of people associated with this sector.The Minsiter also said that first-aid camps on permanent basis will be set up in bahaks for catering to the growing needs and exigencies of shepherds for containing on time damage due to various reasons to the their livestock.
