Incarcerated chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday termed the negligible voting in 38 polling stations of Budgam on Thursday as ‘an eye opener’ for India and the pro-Indian political parties, Indian bias media and the international community.According to the statement issued to KNS, the JKLF spokesman quoted the amalgam chief as saying that yesterday’s election has demonstrated the real aspirations and will of the people of Kashmir who stayed at their homes and boycotted election and hence rejected Indian ‘hegemony’ in Jammu Kashmir with one voice. He said that boycott on Apr 9 and 13 has again reiterated the Kashmiri urge for freedom and liberty and for this exemplary show of resilience people of Kashmir deserve kudos. Malik said that holding election in key month of April, postponing polls in Islamabad to May ending on the pretext of security but holding re-polls at places where hundreds were ‘brutalized by bullets and pellets’ only 3 days before, shows “the real anti-Kashmiri mindset of India and the state government who not only kill, injure and blind us but also want to destroy our economy and education by such activities.

” While condemning the bias reporting of Indian media especially TV channels regarding Kashmir, JKLF chairman said that these people have lost every moral, ethical and journalistic sense and are orchestrating Kashmiris as villains and monsters. He said, “If these shameless channels can show a video of some CRPF personal being unfairly manhandled by a mob and poison Indian public opinion why don’t they also show the videos of target killing of an innocent teenager by these killer forces in Budgam on Apr 09, beating and torturing of children and a Kashmiri boy strapped to the front of a Jeep being used as a human shield that is viral on social media.” Malik said that this growing anti-Kashmiri approach and bias of Indian media especially news channels is getting unacceptable day by day as these people are acting as a tool of ‘oppression’ against people of Jammu Kashmir. He said that exemplary boycott has ‘frustrated’ India and the local pro-Indian political parties and that is why they are all hell bent upon demonizing Kashmir and Kashmiris. While condemning the ongoing ‘oppression’ in Kashmir in general and district Pulwama and Budgam in particular, JKLF chairman said, “From last many days Tahab Pulwama is burning as police, SOG and other forces have unleashed an ugly reign of terror there by not only killing a women but arresting hundreds of young and old.”

He said that on one hand ‘state sponsored violence’ continues unabated and on the other hand religious fanatics have also been let loose in Jammu and other areas. Referring to the incident of recent attack on a Kashmiri inmate Mubarak Ahmad Butt of Kulgam who is languishing in Kotbalwal jail from January 2010 by some Hindu goons in which the said inmate has been injured seriously, JKLF chairman said that these attacks again show growing fascism that is being protected and propagated by rulers. While condemning the restrictions in Budgam and ban on Budgam Chalo program and spree of arrests throughout Budgam district, JKLF chairman said that the biggest democracy has choked every space on democracy here.Thanking Sikh brethren for their show of solidarity with rest of Kashmir by observing Baisakhi with austerity, JKLF incarcerated chairman said that their solidarity has shown that we all are one and stand united against tyranny and oppression. JKLF chief also condemned the life threat given by PDP people to a young journalist and termed it as ‘share frustration’ of the rulers. (KNS)
