The Construction work on 28 Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) at an estimated cost of Rs 57.19 crore are apace in Kalakote Constituency and Rs 25.75 crore have been incurred on these projects so far.This information was given in a meeting chaired by Minister for Animal and Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli to review the pace of progress of different schemes and projects under PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control and Rural Development Departments in Kalakote Constituency, here today.Threadbare discussions were held on fund allocations, completion of flood damaged works and pace of progress of ongoing works under different sectors including NABARD.The meeting was informed that the construction work on WSS Kalakote Town and WSS Ghyun sanctioned under NABARD and CSR initiatives of Life Insurance Corporation respectively are apace and out of an estimated cost of Rs 9.04 crore, Rs 4.44 crore have been incurred on these projects so far.It was also given out in the meeting that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for Daggalhalal, Mohu and Kha-Khadarian Water Supply Schemes proposed costing of Rs 8.43 crore have been prepared and submitted to the concerned quarter for accord of sanction and hoped that these projects will sanctioned soon.Taking stock of various ongoing works under MGNERGA, IAY, Constituency Development Fund (CDF), 14th Financial Commission and Swachh Bharat, it was informed that out of Rs 17.43 crore, Rs 9.15 crore has been released for the purpose so far. 

The construction work on various foot bridges, culverts, community paths, ponds, bowlies, link & inner roads, panchayat ghars and school buildings are underway in the Constituency.The DPRs costing of Rs 22 crore has been proposed for under taking different developmental works under various Rural Developmental Schemes in Kalakote Constituency for next financial year 2017-2018 and submitted to the concerned for accord of approval.Addressing the meeting, the Minister stressed upon the officers to work with utmost dedication and honesty besides asked for using standard materials in every developmental works and ensured utilization of funds properly and judiciously.  Mr. Kohli also directed the concerned Executing Agencies to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing developmental works under different sectors in the Constituency and complete them in a stipulated time frame.The Minister asked the concerned to conduct field survey of Kalakote Constituency and identify the habitations that have not been provided adequate drinking water facilities as yet. Mr. Kohli said that the coalition Government is committed to provide adequate drinking water, power supply and other basic amenities to the people especially living in far-flung and remote areas of all the regions of the State.Among others, Senior Officers of PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control and Rural Development Departments were present in the meeting.
