The Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2017 would see the Tableau of PUNJAB being part of the parade. The theme of the tableau is based on ‘JAGO’, which is an inseparable part of the Punjabi culture.Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that the tableau has been named JAGO as it has a festive dance full of energy and celebrations. The front part of the tableau has four ladies performing JAGO dance with decorated Gaagars on their heads attired in traditional punjabi dress. The rear part shows a village house given traditionally decorated look on wedding occasion with family members dancing to the JAGO song ‘JAGO AIYA’. The rural Punjab has also been tastefully represented in the tableau, he added.
