Deputy Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Javed Ahmed Rana has expressed serious resentment for not providing Medical College to the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.“It is not a judicious approach to single out the twin border districts of Rajouri-Poonch while sanctioning New Medical Colleges by the Central Government.  We are not against any region but our demand is most genuine and it is long pending demand of the people of these areas: Rana said in a statement issued here today. Mr Rana said that a NGO which was constituted in the year 2004-05 in the name of “Poonch-Rajouri Peoples United Front” had raised the demand for opening of Medical College at the central place of Poonch-Rajouri at G. B long back. Mr. Rana said that rail link for the twin districts were already abandoned due to unknown reasons, for which there is a great resentment among the public.

“Our people have already suffered due to militancy and firing/shelling across from the border. The Peerpanchal range deserves the Medical College/Rail Link because the area is the most backward and situated on the LOC having its hilly terrain, topography and having no better infrastructure and is also too much for away from Jammu. Chairman called for unanimous resolution for sanctioning of a medical college for Peerpanchal Belt.Mr Rana was speaking with a large number of gathering came from Poonch/Rajouri in his office chamber today.
