Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat today laid foundation stone of Modern Primary Health Centre at village Kharote, Kathua in presence of MLA Kathua , Rajiv Jasrotia.The PHC will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 178.11 lacs work of which will be executed by Public Works Department. The double story building will have the provision of residence for staff along with health centre and will be ready for commissioning by April 2018.Speaking on the occasion the minister said that thirty thousand souls will get benefit from this PHC and not only village Kharote but also nearby villages like Maroli , Kailashpur , Gaitrwan , Paranta , Govindsar and many small hamlets will be benefitted. He also directed Director Health to immediately provide Dental Infra at the existing PHC at Kharote as demanded by the residents. He further said that the state Government is committed to improve the overall medical infra to facilitate the patients and mitigate their sufferings by providing a digital X Ray machine for DH Kathua. He also informed that the foundation stone of Govt.
Medical college Kathua will be laid soon at village Logate and the process of identification of land is in the final stage. To over come the shortage of doctors in the state he said that process of rationalization has been initiated and the deficiencies will be dealt accordingly. The Minister also inspected recently renovated District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) at district hospital which has been renovated at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lacs. The EIC building has been upgraded under Rashtriya Baal Savasthya Karyakaram (RBSK); an ambitious initiative which envisage screening of child health and early intervention services, a systematic approach of early identification and link to care, support and treatment.Later, the minister laid foundation stone of Night shelter at DH Kathua which will be completed at the cost of 1 Crore. He also took stock of overall working of the district hospital, the problems faced by the patients and various shortcomings which require immediate attention.Director Health, CMO Kathua , Med. supdt. DH Kathua , XEN PWD and other officers of various sister wings accompanied the minister during the visit.
