The Education Department, Punjab, today saw the appointment letters being handed over to the 569 lecturers out of 620 newly recruited ones as part of the first stage of the recruitment of 16000 E.T.T. Teachers/Masters/Lecturers. In an impressive function held here at the auditorium of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), the Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema also allotted choice stations along with appointment letters to these newly recruited lecturers.The Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema earlier in his address to the newly recruited lecturers before giving appointment letters said that they constitute the lucky ones and the most capable teachers who have been selected after going through two separate examination procedures. 

Congratulating them on joining the department, Dr. Cheema expressed confidence that their joining would bring constructive and progress oriented changes in the education department.Divulging more, the Education Minister said that the department is making recruitments of 16000 E.T.T./Teachers/Masters/Lecturers, the process concerning which is nearing completion and as part of the initial phase today 620 lecturers have been recruited. He also informed that the appointment letters to the 4500 E.T.T. Teachers would be given soon and the examination regarding the 6000 recruitments to the Master Cadre in respect of various subjects would be held at the end of this month.Dr. Cheema said that after a teacher cleared the TET test, the department is conducting subject and aptitude test before the final selection of the teacher into the department. He said that this process would ensure the recruitment of better brains. He said that the department, keeping in view the retirement of teachers up till 31st March. 2017, has decided to initiate the recruitment process in advance so that the vacant vacancies could be filled immediately after the retirements.

Earlier, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (SE) said that the newly recruited lecturers were called as per the merit list and vacant stations were displayed before them. He said that the lecturers were allotted the stations as per their preference. He said that today 144 lecturers of Political Science, 109 of Economics, 89 of History, 63 of Math, 43 of English, 55 of Punjabi, 26 of Biology, 10 of Chemistry, 9 of Commerce, 15 of Physics and 5 lecturers of Hindi subject were handed over the recruitment as well as allotment letters.Prominent among others who were present in the meeting Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Chairperson, Punjab School Education Board, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (SE), Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur Dhaliwal, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, Director, SCERT, Dr. Ginni Duggal, Mr. Karamjit Singh and Mr. Lalit Kishore Ghai (all Deputy Directors).
