June vis-à-vis militancy related incidents has turning out to be the bloodiest month of the ongoing current year in Jammu and Kashmir. Thirty-nine people including 22 militants and a civilian have lost their lives in different militancy related incident. Among the dead are 3 BSF personnel, 3 Jammu Kashmir Policemen, 2 Army men and 8 Central Reserve Police Force personnel.  The month started with the killing of three BSF personnel at Gorivan area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district on June 3. The next day militants killed two local cops at KP road of the same district who were later identified as ASI Bashir Ahmed and Constable Reyaz Ahmed. The fierce encounters that proved fatal for both militants and troopers took place in Kud in Udhampur, Machil and Tangdar Sectors of Kupwara, Bomai Sopore, Ladho Pampore, Lolab and Drugmulla areas of Kupwara, Wadarbala Handwara and Pampore.Out of 112 casualties in the first six months of the current year, according to news agency CNS, 74 are militants, followed by 11 Army men, 10 CRPF personnel, 7 policemen, 3 BSF personnel and 11 civilians. Over all the number of security men killed during the first six months of the current year are 31. (CNS)
