Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra Saturday said that Centre government has created a framework to uplift the small scale and Khadi units across Jammu and Kashmir.“We will give all sorts of help to revive and uplift the small scale industries across J&K,” Mishra told gathering after inaugurating Khadi Sales Bhandar at Buchpora in summer capital Srinagar. He lauded the role of the Kashmri artisans for shining in their trades.He said I am happy the way Industries department is reaching out to the villages across the State to empower the small scale industries. He asked the officials to reach out to the entrepreneurs with dedication and commitment. He said problems of artisans will be addressed on priority.The Union Minister was flanked by Minster for Industries, Chander Prakash Ganga, Union Secretary, MSME, Chairman, KVIC, Secretary, CEO, KIVB, Director EDI, among other senior officials of the State and Centre.The Minister after inaugurating the Sales Bhandar took stock of the e-charkhas unit, where mostly women work. The Minister directed officials to impart them full training of using these newly launched updated e-Charkhas. Mishra informed that the Pashmina, which was out of the ambit of the MSME has been included into the list.

He said government is utilising all efforts to provide requiste support to the small scale unit holders by reaching out to the entrepreneurs. He said various initiatives are underway to make people self-reliant and self sustainable.

Pointing toward Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Mishra said we are conducting skill development programmes for the entire value chain of manufacturing, starting from village industries to state-of-the-art manufacturing sectors, such as engineering and auto components, among several others.The Unions Minister said Union government has set a target of training 1.5 crore youth by 2022. The 18 tool rooms and technology development centres under the ministry are providing both long- and short-term training to more than one lakh youth at present,” he added.He said that his Ministry was implementing a number of schemes and programmes for the benefit of the MSME sector and facilitating the promotion and development by giving access to credit, infrastructure development and technology up gradation. He also said that government has launched various schemes for promotion of innovation, entrepreneurship and to provide help for the agro industry.Earlier Minister for Industries, Chander Prakash Ganaga while addressing to the weavers and women entrepreneurs urged centre to provide State more funds to reach out to the grassroots.It was given out during the inaugural function that exhibition, which will go on for a month and has been organized the by the J&K Khadi &Village Industries Board (KVIB).The officials informed that more than 200 stalls have been arranged in which artisans and entrepreneurs from all over the country will showcase their products. As many as 100 stalls will exhibit local products including silk, Khadi, Namdas, Pashmina, woolens and many other products. Products which are expected to be at display from outside the state are herbal based products from Kerela, Chappals from Rajasthan and specialties from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh Haryana and other States.
