Burzuhama to be developed as tourist village: Asiea Naqash

Stating that Burzuhama is an oldest archeological site in the northern India and it remains high on the agenda of heritage tourism, the Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash Saturday said some of the artifacts exhumed from the site are displayed at Central Asian museum and S P museums.The Minister said this while conducting an inspection of the site at Burzuhama Srinagar. She directed the authorities of tourism department to prepare a DPR for the site so that basic infrastructure is created to lure the tourists to the heritage site. Besides possibilities be explored to develop the strawberry bowl of Srinagar at Gussu village under Farm tourism.She also directed the concerned to harness the potential around the Burzuhama area including Denehama, Teilbal and Mulfaaq so that they are brought on the tourism map to generate employment avenues for the locals.The Director Tourism Mehmood Ahmad Shah and other concerned official accompanied the Minister during her visit.
