Octogenarian Veteran journalist Mr. Santosh Kumar Acharya, who died after a brief illness last night, was cremated here today. Vineet Joshi, Assistant Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Punjab and Jangveer Singh Media Advisor to Deputy Chief Minister laid wreaths on behalf of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively and shared the grief of the family.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Information and Public Relations Minister Punjab Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia expressed grief over the demise of the learned journalist and prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul. Mr. Santosh Acharya remained associated with Veer Pratap, Milap, Shiwalik Sandesh, Naya Lokyug, Him Prabha as Editor and News Editor.Prominent amongst others who attended the cremation included Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Member Parliament, Mr. Sat Pal Jain, former MP, Mr. Harmohan Dhawan, former Union Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Bajwa, President Chandigarh Press Club, journalists, prominent social and religious leaders and officers of the Punjab and Haryana governments.
