Vacant posts of teachers to be filled up on priority: CM

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh stated that government was resolute to provide quality education and efforts were being taken to fill up the vacant posts of different categories of the teachers to facilitate students in getting better education facility nearer to their homes.Presiding over the review meeting of Education Department here today, the Chief Minister said that 3894 posts of J.B.T, C&V and T.G.T were being filled up in the State particularly in tribal, far-flung and backward areas adding that 749 posts of J.B.T had already been filled up by the Elementary Education department in six districts of the State while process was on to fill up the posts in rest six districts. He said that 350 posts of Head Masters had been filled up through promotions in the Higher Education department while 40 more posts of Head Masters would be filled after the decision comes in a pending case in the High Court.  

He said that government had filled up 376 posts of and Principles.He said that government had also benefited the different categories of the teachers through appointments and promotions. He said that 1370 posts of C&V teachers would be filled up in all the districts and 187 posts of language teachers and 125 posts would be filled up through promotion and 188 on batch wise system by promotions through subordinate services selection board (SSSB), Hamirpur for which the Board was organising Teacher Eligibility Test on 19 January, 2014. Shri Virbhadra Singh said that interviews for 462 T.G.T's from the backlog had been conducted and they would be soon given appointments. Besides, 592 posts of T.G.T's were being filled up by direct recruitment through SSSB. He added that the process of interviews for filling up 42 posts of T.G.T's for the handicapped candidates had also been completed who soon would get appointment letters. He said that government would appoint 1308 J.B.T's, 1370 C&V teachers and 1216 T.G.T's in the elementary education department.He said 146 posts of Superintendent Grade-II and 187 posts of Senior Assistants had been filled up through promotions besides recruiting 96 clerks from L.D.R and sports quota in the State adding that approval had also been accorded for filling up 333 posts through outsourcing.

Virbhadra Singh said that 16 posts of Deputy Director, Education had also been filled up which were vacant since long. The recruitment process for appointing 103 lectures of commerce and 970 I.P and Information technology lecturers of school cadre was at final stage while the process to promote 500 T.G.T's as Post Graduate Teachers would also be completed soon. Shri R.D Dhiman, Principal Secretary, Education detailed out the various activities of the department and said that better educational facilities would be ensure to the students of the State up to the remote areas with the filling up of the vacant posts of the teachers.Shri V.C Pharka, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Dinkar Burathoki, Director, Higher Education and other senior officers attended the meeting.
