Shopkeepers and residents of Old City staged a protest against Power Development Department to register their protest against unscheduled power cut . The protest was led by bjp leader Yudhvir Sethi Jammu Poonch Parliamentary constituency and State  Incharge Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha.Addressing the protester Yudhvir Sethi Said The government had promised to the people of Jammu after installing electronics meters that the people will get   Twenty four hours electricity ,there will be  no curtailment in future .but now the coalition government has been exposed about its  failure to keep the  promise made regarding providing regular power supply.

He said that irregular power supply and frequent power cuts  has made their life miserable. Frequent load-shedding has nearly paralysed business and industry in Jammu. Even the students are not able to study well and prepare for their final exams in coming days. The government is discriminatory in providing basic amenities to the people of jammu  Jammu region has always witnessed step-motherly treatment. Power consumption ratio in the Jammu region  and the Kashmir Valley is 40:60 while Jammu collects 66 percent of the power tariff. According to  official data the Jammu region paid Rs.1,651.91 crore power tariff in the last three years while the Kashmir Valley paid Rs.1,061.95 crore during the same period. Prominents who participated are Anil Masoom, Sunny Sehgal, Ravinder Khajuria, Rahul, Pappu Sardar,Pardeep Singh, Nischhal Anand, Prince Gupta, Sonu, Tarseem Jain, Rajesh Malhotra, Vishu, Raja and others.
