Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Monday said comments made in a personal capacity on social networks like Facebook should not be raised in the legislative assembly. The chief minister's remark came on the last day of the monsoon session of the assembly as the opposition BJP created a ruckus over the posting of comments by Congress member Neeraj Bharti on his Facebook account.Virbhadra Singh said he does not have a Facebook account."I have never maintained my Facebook account nor written any comment (on somebody's post)," the chief minister said, while defending Bharti.

The Bharatiya Janata Party created pandemonium in the assembly for the second consecutive day over the reported remarks by chief parliamentary secretary Bharti against BJP national leaders on his Facebook page.

BJP member Satpal Satti said Bharti made derogatory comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani.Virbhadra Singh said Facebook was mainly a "personal" online platform."Normally there are personal comments on Facebook. It is shameful that the comments posted on Facebook are brought in the house by the BJP.""Even there are so many comments against our national leaders. But we never made an issue in the house. Our leaders ignore such comments," he said.Justifying Bharti's posts, the chief minister said the comments were not attributed to anybody.
