Chinese, Malaysian firms keen to join in building Andhra capital: N. Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said after Japan, companies from China and Malaysia have evinced in being partners in the construction of new state capital.At a meeting of the Capital Advisory Group here, he said that the world is looking towards Andhra Pradesh in building the capital.Naidu said the construction of capital city will pick up pace after laying the foundation stone on October 22. "Amaravati will be developed as a port-based capital between two industrial townships, home to economic activity," he said, adding it must be created as a vibrant, diverse, inclusive, and modern city which will be a symbol of pride for the people of Andhra Pradesh and India.

Emphasizing on making the construction of capital a participatory model, the chief minister said that the industrialists from the state too should be partners in this historical endeavour.He stressed on making the processes hassle-free for companies for the setting up of their industries.He further suggested the members of the Capital Advisory Group to thoroughly analyze the master plans of the seed capital, capital city and capital region areas.Naidu also directed the officials to implement world-class practices in constructing energy smart grid, wide-lane road network and drains, as well work on an action plan that will effectively use local resources to enrich the green cover in the city and maintain cleanliness.

The chief minister, who returned from a visit to Turkey on Saturday, lauded the Turkish government's efforts in utilizing advanced technology to develop Istanbul as a modern city in just seven years. He added that Istanbul, with a population of 2 crore, is emerging as the fastest growing city in the world.He also told the meeting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi briefed him about the infrastructural marvels of Astana and Asghabat, capital cities of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, respectively.Modi suggested that the state send a delegation to these cities in order to study them and incorporate some of the best practices.
