Minister of State for PHE, Agriculture and Sheep Husbandry, Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi today said that introduction of latest technology is important for facing the challenges for increasing the production of various crops in agriculture sector. The Minister was addressing a congregation of farmers after inaugurating a Kissan Mela at Pazalpora, Bandipora today. A number of stalls were set up by various departments including Agro Industries Corporation Ltd in the Mela on required awareness regarding latest technology schemes was extended to the farmers. After inspecting the stalls, the Minister advised the progressive farmers to put in their hard toil to achieve prosperity in the field of Agriculture with significant guidance and supervision of Agri Technocrats.
Apprising the farmers about the benefits of various schemes, the Minister said that menace of poverty and ignorance could be removed from the face of the society by opting for various significant schemes launched by the Agriculture department from time to time. He said that there is a large scope of growth in Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and other allied sectors, adding that educated unemployed youth can take advantage of these schemes as per their choice.Director Agriculture Kashmir, Mr. Mushtaq Peerzada while addressing the function said that the introduction of latest technology has become inevitable to provide basic needs to the people besides the technology is beneficial in facing the latest challenges of production of various crops. He said that agricultural activities are being made proactive keeping in view the interest and enthusiasm of educated unemployed youth. The District Development Commissioner, Bandipora, Mr. M.Y. Zargar and Chief Agriculture Officer, Bandipora also addressed the function.
