Punjab Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today gave in principle approval for establishment of the first of its kind renewable energy project in the world which will use industrial waste to generate power. The Deputy chief minister gave this approval on the spot after a demonstration here during which scientists of Fakon Vallalkozasi KFT company showcased  the new technology which uses scientific invention to heat sulphur using photovoltaic cells to produce power. Fakon Vallalkozasi managing director Laszlo Pakh assured the Deputy CM that it would install a 1 mw renewable energy plant using the company's patented invention in Punjab within six months. He said the project would  usher in a new revolution in the renewable energy business in Punjab.

Giving details of the project, Mr Pakh said it basically consisted of a self moving solar dish along with a turbine and other parts. He said industrial sulphur was heated using sun rays to change its character and produce steam which ran a turbine and generated power. He said this innovation, which used an intellectual property product along with Sulphur to get the desired results, had an efficiency between 40 to 70 per cent. " Nowhere else in the lworld does any system generate an efficiency of more than 25 per cent", he added.

Meanwhile Mr Sukhbir Badal who had a round of the scientific establishment and also examined the first and second generations machines created by the company, said Punjab was keen to produce clean and green energy and would support any innovation which increased efficiency along with being cost effective. He appreciated the company for coming out with a technology which was three times more efficient than solar plant technology.

Mr Badal asked Fakon Vallalkozasi to come out with a plan to establish a manufacturing plant of these renewable energy machines so that they could be supplied throughput the country and even abroad. Others present on the occasion were Jangveer Singh, Media Advisor to the Deputy chief minister, Additional chief secretary Suresh Kumar, Invest Punjab CEO Anirudh Tewari, additional principal secretary P  S Aujla,  Bhavdeep Sardana of Sukhjit Starch and Anoop Bector of Bector Food.
