The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday insisted that the ban on the three Rajasthan Royals players S. Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila would not be lifted.A Delhi trial court on July 25 dropped all charges against the trio and 33 others in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot fixing and betting scandal that rocked the cash-rich Twenty20 tournament in 2013. The BCCI on the same day, however, said the ban will still stay."The earlier decision of BCCI's disciplinary committee ban on this case will stay. Disciplinary proceedings are different, criminal proceedings are different," BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur told reporters here.

"The action taken in the past were based on the disciplinary action for the indiscipline of these players, reports submitted by the the anti-corruption unit. So the same decision of ban will continue on these players."Thakur's statement comes after Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) requested the BCCI to allow Sreesanth to play.Presently both Chavan and Sreesanth are serving life bans imposed on them by the BCCI while Chandila's case is still awaiting a decision.
