DC Baramulla visits Eidgahs, Shrines, Jamia Masjids to review arrangements for Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida, Eid-ul-Fitr

In view of ensuing Shab-i-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah along with officers and Auqaf Committee members today visited various Eidgahs, Dargah Aliya and Jamia Masjids of Baramulla town and reviewed the stock of arrangements.During the visits, the PDD and PHE departments have been asked to provide uninterrupted power and water supply to the people particularly in these holy days in case there is any interruption they will make tanker service ready to meet the demands.

The CA&PD was directed to ensure ration and LPG as per demand of the Auqaf Members. He said on the occasion that Animal Husbandry department has already been directed to provide adequate supply of broiler birds to the people, in this connection, sale centres were established in entire district.The Deputy Commissioner directed the R&B department to repair approach link roads of the Eidgahs and Mosques, while the Municipal Council has been directed to ensure cleanliness around the Eidgahs and Jamia Masjids of the town so that the people do not face any inconvenience. ARTO was directed to provide better transport facility to the people on the eve of holy days.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner visited various markets of the Baramulla town and made market checking. During the checking the Deputy Commissioner asked all the traders to hang rate lists on their shops and ensure availability of all essential commodities on reasonable rates issued by the Government.

Meanwhile, checking teams comprising Revenue, Police, CA&PD, Municipal Council and Weights and Measures headed respective Tehsildars of Baramulla and Sopore inspected various markets of the Baramulla and Sopore and booked various cases against the erring traders for violation of the different provision of the Standards of Commodities Act. Near about Rs. 9000/- was recovered as fine from violated traders at Baramulla and Rs. 4000/- at Sopore, besides rotten vegetable and fruits also destroyed. During the checking, huge quantity of polythene was also seized by the checking teams at these markets and towns. All the traders are asked to hang rate lists at their shops.
