The Water Supply, Sewerage & Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) projects in Ludhiana and Jalandhar would be completed at a cost of about Rs. 560 crore and Rs. 380 crore respectively within next three years.Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's office informed that presiding over a meeting held here at Punjab Bhawan to review the status of various on going development works at Ludhiana and Jalandhar, Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal reiterated the firm commitment of the state government to provide 100%of basic amenities in all the cities of the state.Regarding funding,  Badal said that the state government had already arranged to contribute its share and officers of the state government were in touch with the Government of India (GoI) for the early release of their share. He directed the Municipal Corporations and Improvement Trusts to gear-up their efforts and participate in this endeavor.It may be recalled here that under this mission the state government was spending Rs. 8635 crore, out of which Rs.1470 crore had already been spent on the various ongoing development projects in 81 cities and these works would be completed in a time bound manner.The Chief Minister also deputed a high level team headed by Principal Secretary Local Government to visit Folariwal (Jalandhar) to study the feasibility of improving or shifting of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) there.  Prominent amongst others who attended the meeting included MLA (Jalandhar Cantt.)  Pargat Singh, Principal Secretary Local Government  Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister  S.K. Sandhu, Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister  Gaggandip Singh Brar and  Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Secretary Local Government  R.K. Verma, Mayor Ludhiana  Hakam Singh Giaspura, Mayor Jalandhar  Rakesh Rathor and other senior  officers of the state government.
