Police Friday arrested separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah along with his two close aides after the culmination of protest led by him in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.Reports said that a protest march was organized by separatist leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmed Shah that started from Malaknag area and culminated peacefully in Lal Chowk Anantnag.Hundreds of people amid pro-freedom slogans participated in the march while some of the participants waved green Pakistani flags. Shah during his address to the people denounced the Indian ‘occupation’ in Kashmir and appealed International Community to play a role in resolving the long pending Kashmir issue. Eyewitnesses told CNS that as the Shah reached near Dak Bungalow Khanabal, a police party intercepted and arrested him. His two close aides Maulana Abdullah Tari and Molvi Bashir Ahmed were also arrested by police near Sangam when they were on way to Srinagar. (CNS)
